(can you spell H A M I L T R A S H ?) I just found out I’m related to a London production cast member and I’m still trying to process that ….So here’s some HAMILFACTS!!!! I’ve researched a bit on these so I know these are true.
1. I’m related to a West End Hamilton cast member , Christine Allado , who plays Peggy Schuyler and Maria Reynolds. ( AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH ) Rachel Ann Go joins her as Eliza, her older sister in the play.
2. Phillipa Soo recently married Steve Pasquale on September 24, In New York AND EVERYONE FREAKED OUT.
3. Phillipa also starred in Broadway’s Amelie as the main role and it won , sadly, no tony awards nor did it get any nominations ( SOMEONE AVENGE PIPPA )
4. Eliza wore a mourning ring containing a lock of Alexander’s hair after his death, most likely as a pendant on a necklace or a ribbon. (sad Eliza is Sad)
5. Thomas Jefferson invented Macaroni and Cheese. According to more than one urban legend, he created macaroni and cheese by putting the pasta mix and lots of cheddar cheese in a self made pasta machine.
6. Alexander had a brother, James Hamilton, but they were fostered off to different families.
7. Lafayette’s full name was Marie-Joseph-Paul-Yves-Roch-Gilbert du Motier de La Fayette , at least it was his birth name, soon to be shortened to Lafayette.
8. Lafayette was buried in France under soil taken from Bunker Hill. Under his wishes, after he was buried, soil from Bunker Hill was put on his grave and coffin.
9. Hamilton’s first daughter, Angelica Hamilton, suffered a mental breakdown after Philip, her older brother, died. In 1801, Philip died in a duel against George Eacker and she had a mental breakdown, from which she never healed. Ron Chernow wrote about this in his book as well “For the rest of her life, she sang songs that she had played on the piano in duets with her father, and she always talked of her dead brother as if he were still alive.”
10. Aaron Burr lost nearly everything. Both his parents and grandparents died before he was a toddler, his wife died at 48, and his daughter, the only one he had left, was lost at sea at 29. (sad Burr is sad)
